And, so, Crystal went on to make her presence known at SCORE. She would win 2002 SCORE Newcomer of the Year. She would become one of the top feature dancers in the world. She would become the spokesmodel for SCORE's 15th anniversary celebration at SCORELAND. And she would write a monthly column, "The Gunns Show," that ran in SCORE for over two years.
I have to admit, I expected the worst when Crystal started writing "The Gunns Show." Knowing her schedule--on the road almost every day of the year, dancing into the early morning, getting up late, traveling to another booking--I did not expect things to go smoothly. I was sure she'd miss deadlines and I had no doubt that I'd have to re-write most of her columns. After all, what kind of writer can a feature dancer be?
It turned out that Crystal never missed a deadline. She was also responsible for all of the photos in the column (having them taken if they were of her or taking them) and making sure there was a signed model release for every person in the photos. Again, Crystal was always reliable. As for her writing, I have to admit that she started out a little shaky, but by the third or fourth column, Crystal had a clear, distinguishable voice. And I never had to re-write her copy.
What was also great was how Crystal promoted SCORE when she was on the road. She'd sign magazines and talk to the many fans who came to see her. This was a girl who took her job seriously.
I was sad when she retired from modeling a few years ago, and I'm looking forward to the day when Crystal is inducted into the SCORE Big-Boob Hall of Fame. Linsey, SaRenna and Alyssa are already in. Crystal should be next.
